Shout Out: Tina Sullivan
K-State Northeast Area Agronomist Tina Sullivan presents to attendees of the McPherson cow-calf school in mid-February.
Submitted by Shad Marston
This week’s Shout Out is from Shad Marston, K-State agriculture and natural resources agent, McPherson County.
After reflecting on our annual McPherson cow-calf school and KC strip steak supper, held
Thursday, Feb. 19, I would like to send a Shout Out to Tina Sullivan, northeast area agronomist,
for delivering a powerful message to the 190-plus producers and guests.
Her topic covering fall armyworms was spot on and reminded everyone on what to expect, scout
for, and the proper ways to treat them for this coming cropping season. Fall armyworms were a huge problem in our area late last summer and fall.
Even though Tina was presenting to a livestock audience, she knocked it out of the park and left the cattle producers with easy-to-follow steps and guidelines for the 2026 growing season. We were so proud to have her as part of our program.
This cow-calf school has a long tradition of being one of the top K-State Extension programs in the state every year. It was great to see everyone working together on a night when extension gets to educate the ag community with meaningful information about the beef cow industry and more.
If you know of a colleague or team of colleagues who deserve recognition for a job well done,
why not nominate them for a Shout Out. Simply send their name(s) and the reason for the Shout
Out to ksreshoutout@ksu.edu. Shout Out submissions are published in the order they are
received.
