Submitted by Gregg Hadley
This week, the Shout Out is sent from Deborah Kohl on behalf of the Facilitation Team, and is sent for Kyler Langvardt, Geary County ANR Agent. She writes:
“As Kyler prepares to transition from extension to his new role at Farm Bureau, the facilitation team recognizes the impact he made during his tenure — most recently with the third edition of the Facilitation Resource Guide and successful delivery of FIIT. Kyler is more than just a colleague; he has been a foundational force for the facilitation initiative.
Kyler is the design genius behind the Facilitation Resource Guide, a cornerstone project that will continue to benefit the organization for years to come. Each year, Kyler adds content and keeps the material fresh — in plenty of time to have new copies ordered for FIIT training.
As a CORE team member for Northeast Kansas, his leadership and strategic insight have been instrumental in driving regional success and fostering community growth — specifically with the Regional Excellence Initiative facilitations and the on-going work with the Flint Hills Regional Planning Commission.
What truly sets Kyler apart is not just what he does, but how he does it. The team has consistently been inspired by his unique approach to professional challenges:
- A Willing Spirit: He is always among the first to volunteer, stepping up whenever a need arises.
- Unwavering Integrity: Kyler is known for his ability to speak the truth and address the uncomfortable aspects of a project or situation.
- A Rare Balance: He navigates difficult conversations with a combination of courage and kindness, ensuring that progress is made while every individual feels valued.
While his departure marks the end of an era at extension, there is great excitement regarding his future at Farm Bureau. His move highlights the critical importance of working across organizations and engaging with diverse stakeholders. Kyler’s presence in this new role represents a powerful opportunity for continued collaboration between these two vital entities.
The entire team celebrates Kyler’s achievements and looks forward to watching him continue to grow his career and influence future leaders in Kansas for the better. Thank you, Kyler, for your steadiness and heart.”
Kyler -- thanks for all you do for the people of Kansas, our colleagues, and K-State Extension.
