Please join us in congratulating Dona Ratliff on her new role as extension event and program manager in the Department of Horticulture and Natural Resources, effective Sept.r 27. Dona’s last day with the State 4-H Office will be Sept. 26, following the Kansas State Fair.

Since joining the state 4-H office in 2018, Dona has coordinated statewide 4-H events and worked closely with volunteers, local extension units, and youth across Kansas. Her dedication, organization, and commitment to creating positive experiences have contributed to the success of countless programs and events.

“I am grateful for the opportunities, support and experiences I have gained during my time with Kansas 4-H,” Ratliff said. “Working with the team has been a valuable part of my personal and professional growth. This team will hold a special place in my heart.”

In her new role, Dona will coordinate events and programs that support extension efforts within the Department of Horticulture and Natural Resources. She will work with programs serving commercial and consumer audiences in horticulture and natural resources, as well as volunteer programs including Master Gardeners, Master Naturalists and Master Floral Designers.

“Dona has helped grow and strengthen our 4-H educational experiences at the state level, and her talents in event planning and program coordination will continue to benefit K-State Extension in this new position,” said Sarah Maass, director of Kansas 4-H.

“We are excited to welcome Dona to the Horticulture and Natural Resources team,” said Cheryl Boyer, director of extension programs for the Department of Horticulture and Natural Resources. “Her experience working with extension audiences across Kansas, combined with her strong organizational skills and commitment to service, will be a tremendous asset as we continue to deliver high-quality educational programs and events.”

The state 4-H office has received approval to refill the Kansas 4-H event program coordinator position and is awaiting a timeline for posting the vacancy. In the meantime, questions about 4-H events may be directed to the state 4-H office at 785-532-5800 or kansas4h@ksu.edu.

Please join us in thanking Dona for her contributions to Kansas 4-H and wishing her continued success in her new role.
