Shout Out: Tristen Cope
September 1, 2026
Submitted by Gregg Hadley
This week, the Shout Out is from Elaine Johannes, Kansas Health Foundation Distinguished Professor in Community Health, and is sent for Tristen Cope, Chisholm Trail Extension District family and youth development agent.
Elaine writes:
“This is a Shout Out for Tristen Cope, family and youth development agent in the Chisholm Trail Extension District, who completed her master's degree in Family and Community Services this summer.
The required capstone project that Tristen completed was an environmental scan of quality childcare and early learning activities taking place on K-State's Manhattan campus. Working with K-State's Institute for Community Health and Well-being with guidance from committee members, Tristen conducted a survey of research, teaching and engagement/outreach faculty, then followed up with faculty interviews to learn more.
The results of her project will be shared with Institute partners, Extension's Childcare and Early Learning TDT, and state offices like KCCTO and Kansas' new Office of Early Childhood.
Congratulations, Tristen!”
Tristen -- thanks for all you do for the people of Kansas, our colleagues and K-State Extension.
