September 1, 2026

Do you manage volunteers? If so, this series is for you.
Join colleagues from across K-State Extension for Volunteer Management Conversations, an eight-week series created for anyone working with 4-H, Master Gardener, Master Naturalist, Master Food, or other K-State Extension volunteers.
The series will be offered each Friday from Sept. 25 through Nov. 13.
Each week, we’ll spend 20 minutes on a practical volunteer management topic, followed by 20–30 minutes of Q&A and idea sharing. Bring your questions, challenges, and ideas — this is a conversation, not just a training.
Attend one session or join us for all eight. Register once and receive the Zoom link, reminders, handouts, and follow-up answers to questions from the sessions.
Schedule
- Sept. 25 - From Willing to Effective: Why Good Volunteers Still Struggle.
- Oct. 2 - Managing 150-plus volunteers a day: Leadership Lessons from High-Stakes Events.
- Oct. 9 - Recruitment is not the Problem: Why Retention Falls First.
- Oct. 16 - Volunteers are not Staff – And Treating them like Staff Backfires.
- Oct. 23 - Youth Engagement Starts with Adult Alignment.
- Oct. 30 - Orientation is Not Training: Building Volunteers Who Stay.
- Nov. 6 - Board Members, Committees, and Volunteers: One Leadership Framework That Works.
- Nov. 13 - Servant Leadership is not Soft, it is STRATEGIC (this is a 1-hour program and includes a questionnaire to discover your own servant leadership strengths).
Come learn something new. Leave with an idea you can use.
Register today and join the conversation!
