K-State Extension employees are invited to attend the Willow Lake Student Farm Open House on Oct. 8 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Willow Lake Student Farm in Manhattan.

The event will celebrate student-led agriculture, showcase ongoing farm research and activities, and officially launch the One K-State Project: GrowTogether Sustainable Food Systems.

Students, faculty, staff, and community members are invited to learn more about the farm’s role in advancing sustainable food systems and internship and volunteer opportunities.

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in guided farm tours, view equipment demonstrations, and learn about research projects, including sweet potato harvest and butternut squash studies. The open house will also provide information about internship and volunteer opportunities and encourage participants to share ideas for strengthening a sustainable, campus-based food system.

A complimentary meal featuring farm-fresh produce, including soup and other refreshments, will be provided. The farm is located in Tuttle Creek State Park, and transportation will be available for attendees.
