40 Gallon Challenge
Take the pledge to save 40 gallons of water daily
Now more than ever, conserving water across Kansas is critical. The Ogallala Aquifer, a primary water source in the western half of the state, is being used faster than it can recharge, leading to declining groundwater levels and an uncertain water future for Kansas. Everyone can do their part to conserve water.
Take the pledge to conserve at least 40 gallons of water every day. While it may seem like a small contribution, a drop in the bucket, if every household in Kansas made this change, our efforts could save approximately 48 million gallons of water per day. That amount is more than the daily residential water use of the entire city of Wichita!
